A well-serviced e-bike feels like freedom: quiet motor, sure brakes, effortless cruising. When something squeaks or wobbles, that confidence can slip. Regular electric bike servicing protects your safety, performance, and peace of mind so every ride still feels like possibility.
Essential Service Components:
Service Frequency by Rider Type:
At EveryBody eBikes, we care for everything from folding e-bikes to adaptive trikes. I'm Andrea Herklots, and I've seen how thoughtful servicing restores confidence and keeps every body rolling.
More than just a way to get around, your e-bike or e-trike represents freedom, connection, and pure enjoyment. Regular electric bike servicing helps catch issues early, keeping your ride safe, dependable, and ready for every adventure.
Road bumps, weather, and everyday use slowly loosen bolts and wear parts. With motors, batteries, and software in the mix, specialised care keeps everything working smoothly and safely.
Safety for every body is our priority. We ensure your brakes respond instantly and your steering feels precise, giving you peace of mind on every journey.
Longevity and reliability flow from regular care. Consistent, professional maintenance can significantly extend your bike's lifespan and prevent costly repairs.
Confidence and comfort come from a perfectly tuned machine. When gears shift seamlessly and the motor engages smoothly, you can relax and simply enjoy the journey.
Protecting your investment makes practical sense. Proper care maintains your e-bike's value and helps you avoid unexpected, expensive repair bills.
Our technicians focus on the details that matter. We keep your drivetrain clean and lubricated, check tyres for wear and pressure, and run thorough diagnostics on the motor, controller, wiring, and firmware. Understanding your E-bike Battery and your E-bike Motor shows why this care is so important.
Regular servicing turns a good bike into a delightful one—and keeps you moving toward the places and people you love.
The right electric bike servicing schedule isn't one-size-fits-all—it's as unique as you are. Your service frequency depends on how and where you ride, and how much you rely on your bike.
For most riders, we recommend a professional service every 750–1,500 kilometres, or at least once every 6–12 months. Time-based check-ups are important because components can be affected by weather and dust, even if the bike isn't covering long distances.
Your first service is especially important. After an initial post-sale adjustment, a full service around six months or 500-750 kilometres ensures everything has settled in perfectly.
Daily commuters put their bikes through a lot. If your e-bike is your daily workhorse, we recommend a check-up every 4-6 months to keep it in top condition.
Cargo bikes and adaptive trikes carry precious cargo and support mobility, placing extra demands on their components. For these machines, we recommend servicing every 4-8 months, depending on use, to ensure the safety and reliability you depend on.
These are guidelines, not rigid rules. If you ride in dusty or wet conditions, or if something just feels off, it's always best to chat with us sooner. We're here to help you create a schedule that keeps you rolling confidently. You can learn more about service frequency to find what works for your riding adventure.
Your e-bike has its own way of telling you when it needs attention. Listening to these subtle signals is the key to catching small issues before they become big, expensive problems—or worse, safety risks. Ignoring warning signs can diminish your riding joy and compromise your safety.
Here are some common signs that it's time for a professional tune-up:
Squeaky or soft brakes. If your brakes are noisy, feel spongy, or you have to pull the lever further than usual, it's a clear sign they need attention. This is critical for e-bikes, where extra weight and speed demand perfect stopping power.
Skipping or noisy gears. A grinding, noisy, or skipping chain means your drivetrain is calling for help. This can be especially frustrating on an e-bike, where the motor can amplify the issue.
Wobbly wheels. If your bike pulls to one side or you can see a wheel wobbling, it could indicate loose spokes or other issues. This is a safety concern that shouldn't be ignored.
Reduced battery range. Has your range suddenly dropped? A significant decrease in how far you can travel on a charge can be a symptom of an electrical issue.
Intermittent power assistance. If your motor cuts in and out unpredictably or feels jerky, it's a red flag that the electrical system needs a diagnostic check.
Error codes on your display. These codes are your bike's way of telling you exactly what's wrong. Our technicians are trained to interpret messages from Bosch, Shimano, Bafang, and other major systems.
Unusual motor noises. A new grinding, whining, or clicking sound from the motor area could indicate a serious issue that requires immediate professional diagnosis.
Catching these signs early usually means a simpler, less expensive fix. For tips on what you can handle at home, you can find DIY tips in our maintenance library.
Bringing your e-bike or e-trike to EveryBody eBikes for electric bike servicing is an investment in confidence. We offer three service levels to match your needs and riding style.
Our Check-Up Service covers essentials: correct bolt torque, tyre pressures set to spec, and brake/gear function checks. A simple safety reset for peace of mind.
Our Standard Service goes deeper for commuters and weekend riders. Expect precise brake adjustments, a full gear tune, and a thorough drivetrain degrease and re-lube using premium Muc-off products. For compatible Bosch, Bafang, and Shimano systems, we update firmware and provide a report. We’ll also install up to two parts—like pads or a chain—without extra labour.
Our Premium Service is a full refresh for higher-mileage bikes. It includes a deep clean and protection treatment, plus bottom bracket, headset, and hub servicing (disassemble, clean, re-grease, reassemble). We professionally true your wheels and overhaul the drivetrain, then carry out extensive electrical checks and diagnostics so everything communicates perfectly.
Understanding Our Pricing Packages start at $100 for the Check-Up, with full services at $149+ or $269 for a premoium service. Parts are additional and always discussed with you first. A cleaning fee ($75) may apply for exceptionally dirty bikes, and complex electrical issues may require a diagnostic fee ($200). You’ll receive a clear quote upfront, so you feel informed and in control.

When your e-bike is your key to independence, you deserve a workshop that understands what that means. Not all bike shops are created equal, especially when it comes to the sophisticated world of electric bike servicing. An e-bike is a carefully integrated system of mechanics, electronics, and software that requires specialised care.
The difference between a general mechanic and an e-bike specialist is the difference between a quick fix and a lasting solution. Here’s what to look for:
Specialised Expertise: A great workshop lives and breathes e-bikes. We are authorised service specialists for major drive systems like Bosch, Shimano, CYC and Bafang. This means we understand how these complex systems work, what can go wrong, and how to fix them properly.
Diagnostic Tools: Modern e-bikes communicate through diagnostic software. A specialist workshop can plug in, read the error codes, and get to the root of the problem quickly. This is essential for firmware updates, battery health checks, and motor calibration.
Ability to Handle All Bikes: Not every workshop has the space or equipment to service the bikes that truly change lives. At our Brisbane workshop, we've invested in the facilities to properly service heavier and larger-format machines like cargo bikes and adaptive trikes.
Perhaps most importantly, look for a workshop that sees you, not just your bike. At EveryBody eBikes, our approach is personal because we know every rider's story is different. We've built our reputation on understanding the full spectrum of e-bikes and the people who ride them. When you trust us with your ride, you're getting partners who genuinely care about keeping you rolling safely and joyfully.
Ready to experience the difference? Find expert e-bike care at EveryBody eBikes—where every body gets the attention they deserve.
Taking care of your e-bike is a partnership between you and our expert team. While professional electric bike servicing handles the complex work, simple checks at home can extend your bike's life and keep you connected to its needs. Think of it as a simple ritual that protects your freedom and independence.
These small acts of care can catch potential issues before they become big problems.
Check Tyre Pressure: Properly inflated tyres are the easiest way to improve your ride. They roll more efficiently, protect against punctures, and help your battery last longer. Check the recommended pressure on your tyre's sidewall before you ride. Our Tyre Pressure guide explains why this is so important.
Keep it Clean: A gentle wipe-down after a ride, especially around the chain and gears, prevents grit from wearing away expensive components. Avoid using high-pressure water near the motor, battery, or display.
The ABC Check: Make this a pre-ride habit. A is for Air in the tyres. B is for Brakes, making sure they respond smoothly. C is for Chain, checking that it's clean and lubricated.
Some jobs require specialised tools, training, and experience to ensure your safety.
Electrical Diagnostics: Mysterious error codes, intermittent power, or unusual motor sounds are your bike's way of asking for an expert. Attempting to fix these yourself can void warranties or create safety hazards.
Brake and Gear Adjustments: While they seem simple, getting these systems perfect is a complex art, especially with hydraulic brakes or electronic shifting. Perfect tuning provides confidence and protects your drivetrain from premature wear.
Wheel Truing and Bearing Service: If you notice a wobble or hear grinding sounds, it's a clear sign that professional tools and expertise are needed to keep you rolling safely.
